In lieu of an Association-wide Rover Moot, AMRC held a Rover Muster, an afternoon gathering of the Rovers and guests to learn some PTS and hands-on skills.
A Rover Muster was traditionally held every week, and was a two-hour program that included business, scoutcraft, handicrafts, and service-related activities all in one evening. It is a great opportunity for adults to gather and learn and play the scouting game together.
Our Muster included learning about backpacking kit, storing food, hygiene, and water. We also learned about using a compass and did an orienteering course around the park to get the hang of finding a compass bearing and getting to the next clue. We finished off by cleaning up the playground near the pavilion. We also enjoyed hot chocolate and donuts and socializing with one another.
