About

What We Are

The Aspen Mountain Rover Crew is a traditional co-ed scouting group of the Rovering 4 Life Association. This group was founded in August 2020. Our motto is "We Slay Dragons!" We use Rover scouting to overcome our challenges in life, and cheerfully do so with honor and commitment to ridding ourselves of our dragons.

We are adult scouts age 18 and up, called Rovers. There is no upper age limit as to who can join this Crew. We dedicate our lives to self-sacrifice and service through the Scout Promise and Law, which enables us to develop physically, mentally, and morally, and to develop good citizenship.

What We Do

We practice scouting through the 4 Principles of R4LA.

1. Outdoor Adventures and Scoutcraft for Adults

2. Personal Growth & Development for Adults Throughout the Lifespan

3. Service to Scouting & the Community - Locally, Nationally, and Worldwide

4. Camaraderie with Brother & Sister Adult Scouts Internationally, Living by the Scout Promise and Law

Knighthood and Service

Through a model of knighthood, we practice chivalry,  honor, and deliberate questing for self-improvement and helping others. We practice camaraderie, ceremony, and follow a knightly code of honor to emphasize our values.

What We Are Not

We are not a youth scouting group, as we do not have the program or legal framework to work with youth scouts. There are good youth scouting groups out there that can provide a good introduction to scouting before the youth become adults and can Rover with us!

We are not a political, activist, or social justice group. Our goal is to serve people, not non-scouting related movements, and while scouting we do not feel the need to give input on the political or social controversy of the day. We are also non-corporate, and have no paid volunteers. If you want to scout without politics interfering, this is the place to do it!

How You Can Help

We are growing Crew, and we would love to have you on board! You can join as a Rover or be a friend to the Crew and contribute your talents.

This Crew services the Weber and Davis County, Utah areas. Exceptions can be made for other counties in Utah. Please see the How to Join page for more details.
