Hello, RSL Sarah here! I want to post about how our Crew handles finances and uses money for the benefit of our scouting experience.
We are a Crew of R4LA, which is not registered as any sort of non-profit or other revenue-generating entity. As such, we have to be very careful about how we handle money for our group, and we don't have all the financial benefits of having a registered entity.
We have a bank account, which is under the name Sarah Bailey. Why is it under a private name? It is because we cannot register it under the requirements needed for a nonprofit, such as a tax ID. Otherwise, we would have it under "Aspen Mountain Rover Crew."
The primary purpose of this bank account is to make digital transactions for insignia with our supplier and buy any supplies for our Rover Crew, such as compasses we purchased in October 2022 for our Rover Muster. We hope in the future to do legal fundraising for AMRC, which funds would also go into this bank account. We want to be very transparent about any transactions involving this account, which is why I have reported any changes in the account and will continue to do so to remain accountable to Crew members.
