May AMRC Rover Camp Out

May 13-14 was our annual Crew camp out. The Crew camped up a canyon near Stockton, UT, the same one we camped in last year. The weather was warm and beautiful!

We had our 3 active members and  one guest. On Friday evening we worked on some Tenderfoot qualifications together and did flag retirement. RSL Sarah also introduced the Crew Motto: "We Slay Dragons!"

Our Crew membership plaque.

Saturday morning we used shovels,  four-wheeler+trailer, and a digger to create a 19 ft circle of sand the campground owner wants to use for a  large tent for Mountain Man Rendevous on Memorial Day weekend. It was a lot  of fun moving sand  around and making the camp ground a better place!

After our service, we did archery. To finish Candidate Alex's Tenderfoot qualifications, we conducted a trail sign exercise up the canyon. The RSL left traditional scout trail  signs almost half a mile up the canyon, and then hid off the road, waiting for  the other campers to find her. Alex was very proud of herself making it that far up the road and following trail  signs.

After  lunch, we  worked a bit on PTS knots, and then conducted  a Squire reception for Alex. She's been running with this Crew since she was 17 as an Apprentice, and this was such a huge milestone for her and the whole Crew.

Wonderful campout that was fun and fulfilling. We look forward to more camp outs and adventures together!
